Lark – A Modern Marketplace opened April 2011. Owner, Timbrel Wallace, set out to create a retail shop unlike anything else in Gettysburg. It’s a cultivated collection of home décor, artwork, jewelry, candles, fashion, greeting cards, gifts for all ages, and much more. When asked what she carries, it’s hard to describe because she doesn’t look for individual products; she looks for qualities: excitement, design, craftsmanship…any element that stands out that can tell a story. Lark isn’t about mass-produced products, nor is it an art gallery. What you find in the middle are wonderful items made by small businesses that are handmade, design-oriented, fair-trade, and unique.
